More often than not these days most of my work comes as a result of one-off commissions for private or public collectors. I've never had an exhibition in my life....perhaps I should start. I am increasingly interested in mythical beasts - In the 16 and 1700's travellers would come back from their adventures with florid descriptions of rabid beasts that bore no resemblance to anything witnessed in Europe. Artists of the time endeavoured to interpret these descriptions and produced some beautiful drawings of these beasts - half fantasy, half real. The result? Pure mythology. One of the better known examples would be Durer's rhinocerous. At any rate one of the aims I have is to produce a menagerie of these creatrures, most likely in steel. The other aim in life is to carve something vast and fluid in stone........ho hum.
