I was born in Kitwe, Zambia but just to confuse matters I grew up in the Eastern highlands of Zimbabwe where the hills are alive. (Really). In 1980 I moved with my family to South Africa where I completed my primary education at an experimental school focussed on art, ballet, music & drama. The experiment worked for me and I decided there and then to become a sculptor, mainly through the encouragement of a wonderful teacher called Mike Muller. However, in 1985 I moved to England and got distracted by computers, amongst other things....so I spent the best part of 12 years doing graphic design and illustration. It took me an awfully long time to realise that this was not a fit occupation for an adult. So at long last, in 1997, I packed it in and went to University College London, where I read Philosophy. Still not sure why really.

Throughout these years I produced a number of works, athough I never kept records until about 1992. This may turn out to be a good thing. I only began sculpting seriously so to speak, in the summer of 2001. Since then life has been utterly gorgeous. Not least because I completed my largest sculpture to date, but also because I had Ruby in 2003. It seems as though the adventure has only just begun......
